JOSEF BAUER
Josef Bauer (1934–2022) was an Austrian artist whose practice spanned concrete poetry, performance, sculpture, and painting, exploring the relationships between language and representations established around the human body.
His projects respond to public or private cultural commissions, posters, or editorial photographs for the press. The creative process consists of constructing ephemeral installations intended to be photographed in the studio or in nature. The results constitute a coherent body of work that has been exhibited for over 10 years in poster festivals and galleries.
