CHRISTIAN SORG

Christian Sorg, born in Paris in 1941, is a French painter who lives and works in France. He began his training in applied arts, choosing to study sculpture. He continued his studies at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he developed his relationship with painting. Over the years, Christian Sorg has created a unique pictorial language of his own, in which he has invented his own method of appropriating reality.

His works are included in the collections of Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Musée d’Art Moderne de St Etienne, Musée National d’Art Moderne, Centre Georges Pompidou, Les Abattoirs de Toulouse, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, Musée des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, Musée-Galerie Carnot de Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, Musée de Sens, Musée de Soissons, Musée de la Vallée de la Creuze, Éguzon-Chantôme, BNF, libraries and art libraries in Avallon, Bayeux, and Riom, BNP and Worms banks, Musée d’Art et d’Histoire de Genève (Switzerland), Institut français de Barcelone, Museo de Calaceite (Teruel), Museo del Dibujo (Huesca), Museo provincial de Teruel, Museo Goya (Zaragoza), Museo Pablo Serrano (Zaragoza), Fondations Zervos, Colas et Noésis (Spain), MATMUT, Fondation Bouvet Ladubay, Saumur. The FRAC Alsace, Haute Normandie, Midi Pyrénées and FNAC Paris also host works by the artist.
